A new bill being offered in Congress (H.R. 3094) would upend the way we manage the red snapper fishery in the Gulf of Mexico.
This bill would take management of Gulf of Mexico red snapper out of the stakeholder-driven regional council process under the Magnuson-Stevens Act and create a duplicative federal scheme that will disenfranchise family-owned charter and commercial fishing businesses and the millions of American who rely on them for access to the Gulf of Mexico.
Please send a letter to your member of Congress today. Tell them to vote "NO" on H.R. 3094.
